Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Isla Loraine MacMillan is the 13-year-old Founder of Second Chance Sanctuary and leads the overall vision and structure of the organization. She is responsible for overseeing all areas of the sanctuary, including operations planning, rescue systems, foster coordination, adoption processes, and long-term development goals.
She is also actively involved in:
Animal care and daily handling
System organization and workflow management
Rescue and intake oversight
Coordination of sanctuary programs and structure
She helps guide the direction of the organization and ensures that all parts of the system work together to support animals in need.
Sanctuary Budget, Funds & Finance Role
Angela Hurst MacMillan, Isla’s mother, is responsible for managing the financial side of Second Chance Sanctuary, including budgeting, tracking donations, overseeing funds, and supporting financial planning for rescue operations and long-term growth.
The Sanctuary Budget, Funds & Finance Role ensures that resources are allocated responsibly and transparently to support animal care, medical needs, supplies, and organizational development.
