A Message from the Founder

Hey there! I’m Isla MacMillan, the slightly quirky (but very determined) founder of Second Chance Sanctuary.

I started this project because I believe every animal deserves a second chance… and honestly, probably a third, fourth, and fifth, too. I’m all about spreading love, care, and a little bit of expert-level chaos for our furry, feathered, scaly, and hoofed friends.

Yes, I’m 13, and yes, I’m "all in." I personally handle the vision, research, and planning for everything we do. This sanctuary is my dream and my passion—but it’s also a serious commitment to science-based care. Whether I’m researching species-specific enrichment or planning our next big move, my goal is to make sure every resident gets the best life possible (treats, toys, and mischief definitely included).

To me, this isn’t just about rescue; it’s about building a community of people who believe that every life is valuable. When you support SCS, you’re helping me turn a massive vision into a reality—one adorable (and sometimes plotting) animal at a time.
